Giving bloodhounds a second chance

We help bloodhounds, and the people who love them, in every corner of the UK: rescue, rehoming, fostering, advice and support.

Dedicated to UK bloodhounds and their owners

Blood Hound Rescue UK (BRS) is an organisation set up to support UK bloodhound owners and prospective owners, and to help with the rescue, rehoming and fostering of this noble breed. We work only in the UK and we care deeply about the breed and its welfare.

Our dog rescue and adoption support covers London, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Birmingham, the Midlands, Newcastle, Scotland, Manchester, Leeds, Mansfield, Sheffield, Nottingham, Liverpool, Wales, the South West, Devon and Cornwall. If a bloodhound needs help, or you are looking for bloodhound rehoming in the UK, please talk to us.

Adopt or foster

Giving a bloodhound a home is a big commitment and a rewarding one. We match each rescue hound with the family or individual who is the best fit.

Help us to help

Every donation, and every gift we can auction, helps us to look after bloodhounds in need. It is not always about the money, and every offer of help is welcome.

About the breed

“A dog attached to a nose”

The bloodhound is one of the most famous scent hounds in the world. Developed in medieval Europe, it is known for its extraordinary sense of smell, its long ears and loose, wrinkled skin, and a gentle, sociable nature.

They are wonderful companions for the right home, but they need space, exercise, time and a patient owner.
